Overview

Nickelodeon launched Operation Sea Change, an environmental initiative focused on protecting the world’s oceans and empowering kids to take action. The brand needed a digital platform to bring this campaign to life—one that was vibrant, educational, and aligned with Nickelodeon’s playful tone while respecting the seriousness of the mission.

Challenges

The core challenge was creating a kid-friendly, visually engaging website that also spoke to parents, educators, and environmental advocates. It needed to be:

  • Educational but not boring
  • Fun without trivializing the issue
  • Scalable for future updates and ongoing storytelling

Our Solution

We built a responsive, modular site that balanced bold visuals with easy navigation and digestible content. Key features included:

  • Vibrant hero sections to grab attention and introduce key messages
  • Custom blog templates for sharing news, kid-friendly science, and ocean facts
  • Calls to action for getting involved—like pledges, donation links, and social sharing
  • Clean content architecture that allowed parents and educators to find resources quickly

The design used organic shapes, wave motifs, and a fresh color palette inspired by the ocean—reinforcing the theme in a friendly, optimistic tone.
