Challenges
The core challenge was creating a kid-friendly, visually engaging website that also spoke to parents, educators, and environmental advocates. It needed to be:
- Educational but not boring
- Fun without trivializing the issue
- Scalable for future updates and ongoing storytelling
Solution
Built a responsive, modular site that balanced bold visuals with easy navigation and digestible content. Key features included:
- Vibrant hero sections to grab attention and introduce key messages
- Custom blog templates for sharing news, kid-friendly science, and ocean facts
- Calls to action for getting involved—like pledges, donation links, and social sharing
- Clean content architecture that allowed parents and educators to find resources quickly
The design used organic shapes, wave motifs, and a fresh color palette inspired by the ocean—reinforcing the theme in a friendly, optimistic tone.
Results
- Successfully launched in support of Nickelodeon’s environmental campaign
- Provided a central hub for resources, stories, and ongoing updates
- Enhanced engagement by making educational content fun and actionable
